The art of subtitling

Subtitling is in many ways more difficult than normal translation. It's generally not possible to fit everything a speaker says into two lines of text if you use the international norms for words per second, et cetera. This means the subtitler must condense and rearrange what is said. This takes considerable skill to do well. This also means it's vital that the subtitler grasps what the speaker is talking about and what is most important to preserve. Furthermore, timecoding is an art in itself.

Subpar subtitling is unfortunately quite common. We only work with skilled and experienced subtitlers who've passed muster with quality conscious clients.

Special expertise

Conventional subtitling firms who translate motion pictures and TV-series aren't generally well-suited or interested in other types of clients. Unlike them, we can translate content requiring special expertise, for example a presentation of medical equipment.

File formats

There are a huge number of file formats for subtitling files. We can handle just about all of them, and also convert files into any format you wish.

Burning in subtitles and video editing

We're quite unusual in that we can offer both subtitling films and to burn in the finished subtitles. We can also offer more advanced video editing in cooperation with partner firms.
